Madeline M Lee is an award winning biomedical visual problem solver and a health/medical educator. She earned her M.S. in Biomedical Visualization at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She earned her BFA in Communication Arts with honors from the Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also minored in Painting and Print-making.
She is passionate about translating complex biomedical knowledge into various visual media to communicate with a wide range of audiences. Her goal is to combine Art and Medicine to visually communicate with the audience regardless of the media format. She has experience in collaborating with scientists, physicians, and other medical and non-medical professionals.

2018 – Present
Lead all aspects of end-to-end course/module development for assigned e-learning activities and provide support for subject matter experts and staff in the areas of instructional design, teaching strategies, and instructional technology applications.

Created and published interactive online modules and courses.
Created and redesigned wireframe, sitemap, style guide, prototype, icons, responsive website management and increased its web, tablet and mobile usability.

Designed and created visual resources in various digital mediums: medical illustrations, 2D animations, 3D models, video editing, post-productions, digital photography and digital graphics for the department.
Created colored illustrations with insets for the Body Fluids textbook 2015 Edition
(ISBN: 978-089189-6319) to visualize the complex medical information from gross anatomy to pathology level targeting clinical pathologists.
Created digital multimedia and graphics: 3D/2D animation, illustrations, virtual environments, and department announcement graphics

Created illustrations and graphic content including schematic diagrams, charts, and 3D model illustrations for research that focused on multi-disciplinary research to build new systems for various nanobiomedical applications ranging from the medical use of nanoplatform-based diagnostic agents, to therapeutic agents, and possible future applications of theranostics (diagnosis + therapy)
